Three Perspectives on Chopin’s Lyricism
For the past two years, between February and March, the Tempo Chopin association has presented a special concert series to celebrate the birthday of Frédéric Chopin. This year’s concert invites audiences to discover three facets of Chopin’s lyricism, from the intimacy of miniatures to the grandeur of the concerto.

Description
The first part of the concert focuses on the four Mazurkas op. 17, where expression is concentrated and varied, and each miniature reveals a world of characters, moods, and colors, as well as on the Barcarolle op. 60, a late work unfolding in a gentle rocking motion. In response to these youthful works, the Barcarolle rises like a song without words, where time seems suspended.
In the second part of the concert, a monumental work will resonate: the Piano Concerto in F minor, composed in Warsaw during Chopin’s youth, reveals the full depth and richness of his lyricism. Its second movement, dedicated to Delphina Potocka, remains one of the most moving love songs ever written for the piano.
We invite you to embark on this musical journey, from Warsaw to Paris, from past to present, toward an encounter with the soul of Chopin.
